Overview

We are seeking an enthusiastic, dedicated, and adaptable Maths Foundation Learning Tutor to deliver high-quality, engaging, and inclusive Functional Skills Maths programmes to young people and adult learners across Lambeth and other London boroughs.

This rewarding role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in learners’ lives, helping individuals develop essential numeracy skills, build mathematical confidence, and overcome barriers that may have affected their previous experiences of learning Maths.

Working with learners from diverse backgrounds and with varying levels of mathematical ability, you will plan and deliver stimulating, learner-centred sessions that make Maths accessible, relevant, and practical. You will help learners understand how mathematical skills apply to everyday situations, employment, further education, and independent living.

You will assess learners’ existing knowledge, identify individual learning needs, develop appropriate learning plans, and deliver engaging lessons that support progression towards recognised Functional Skills Maths qualifications and wider personal goals.

The ideal candidate will have experience delivering Functional Skills Maths or GCSE Maths within post-16 education, adult learning, or a similar environment, together with strong subject knowledge, excellent communication skills, and the ability to explain mathematical concepts clearly and patiently.

If you are passionate about helping learners overcome their fear of Maths, recognise their abilities, and achieve qualifications that can open doors to new opportunities, we would love to hear from you.
